COVID-19: An Important Update From Our Yamaha Family

    Hello everyone,

We hope that you and your family are staying safe & sane during this time of uncertainty.

Although we had plans to re-open the school in April, we regret to inform you that we will likely have to remain closed. The health and safety of our students and staff are our top priority and we must all work together to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and the strains that it will cause on our healthcare system.

This is a very scary time for us as a small business, and we want to do what we can to continue to support your music studies while ensuring that we are able to continue our operations. We are pleased to announce that we will offer the following solutions:

    For students taking private lessons:

Starting April 6, we will offer weekly one-to-one virtual lessons with your teacher via Google Meet. You do not require a Google account to use this technology. However, you will need:

-a computer, tablet or mobile phone with a built-in camera

-a fast & reliable Internet connection

-your instrument, set up in a bright room free of any distractions (no siblings, pets, or background noise, please!)

The virtual lessons will be available to students who have already made their tuition payments for April. If you have not done so, we invite you to make your payment via e-transfer.A representative from our school will be in touch this week with more information. You will receive a link to the virtual lesson via email once scheduling is confirmed.

    For students taking group lessons:

Starting April 6, we will upload weekly videos of mini-lessons with your instructors. You will be able to watch, rewind & replay these videos at your own leisure. You will also receive the week’s homework via email, and your instructors will be in touch to check in with you.

The mini-lessons will be available to students who have already made their tuition payments for April. If you have not done so, we invite you to make your payment via e-transfer. A representative from our school will be in touch this week with more information.

This is a challenging time for all of us, and it can be especially upsetting for our younger students who are used to their daily routines and social lives. Music is a great form of therapy and can provide a vital escape. In addition to keeping up with your regular practice schedule, we highly recommend listening & singing along to music at home.

Your support means the world to us, and we hope that you will bear with us as we adjust to this new normal.

Please make sure to follow our Facebook page for the latest updates.
